1、钢琴(Piano)
钢琴，高端大气上档次。但由于拾音、搬运的不便，以及高昂的成本，在古典音乐会之外，钢琴主要用于有爵士乐队驻场的酒吧、钢琴使用较多的大型演出等。知名的键盘手大都有自己的钢琴，但是演出中使用的钢琴往往是场地提供的，毕竟这大家伙跟着乐队巡演开销可是不少。另外有些情况下也并不好用。
2、电钢琴( Electric Piano)
注意这电钢琴，而不是数码钢琴。原始的电钢琴在舞台上出现得越来越少了，而且这东西在国内的保有量很低很低。电钢琴与电吉他类似,电钢琴有各种单块效果器与音箱相组，这样的东西在舞台上绝对帅爆了。
3、电风琴( Hammond Organ)
是一种源自簧风琴、管风琴和剧场风琴的电子键盘。最初设计用作模仿管风琴、剧场风琴、乐团音效、或者管弦乐团音效。今天它发展为三种以上的乐器。电风琴可以模仿其他乐器音色，其处境与电钢琴类似。原始的电风琴在舞台上出现得越来越少了。这个乐器的音色在Joz、 Prog Rock(Meo)中经常出现。
4、电钢琴(Digital Piang)
具有88健配重盘来样音色或物理情型实现较通真的钢琴音色,在搬运不便、经济条件不允许时，电钢琴作为钢琴的代品，兼有一些它乐器的色与合成器音色。
5、合成器( Synthesizer)
键盘手的主力设备。合成器组织各种原始声音素材(如正弦波、锯齿波、方波、白噪音、来自真实乐器的声音样本等等)，通过一系列合成法则，输出各种各样的声音，如电子音乐中各种自然界不存在的音色，都是出自于合成器。可以说，每一个型号的合成器都是孤品，而每台合成器的操作方法彼此间却都差不多。
合成器分为模拟合成器与数字合成器。模拟合成器完全靠振荡电路发声，诞生于上世纪中期，现在仍有新品推出，通常价格较昂贵。
数字会成器基于数字电路，除实体乐器外，现今也有运行在计算机上的软件合成器，并已逐渐成为主流。一些数字合成器是经典模拟合成器的复刻。

当然，也有些性价比的追求折中的方案，比如midiplus的61键键盘，淘宝报价不到1K，但是支持半配重。属于性价比很高的，这家厂商据我了解，给M-audio做过OEM，似乎还不错。

最后提醒下，几乎所有键盘都可以选配延音踏板，部分可以配弱音踏板(比如Keystation系列)。
